Dan McCarthy

Above is the print in the dark, and below is the print in natural light...

I'm pretty obsessed with anything that glows in the dark, and to find out that a great print artist includes, Harry Potter, Lost, dinosaurs and starry night, is way too much for me to handle. I have a serious art crush going on right now. Apparently, every one else loves Dan McCarthy as well because almost all of his stuff is sold out! I guess a girl can dream.

It's Fall!

Hooray! Hooray! It's Fall! It's my favorite season, and I'm excited. Scarves, chilly nights, Joshua Tree meteor showers, jackets, pumpkin spice lattes, colorful leaves and the pumpkin patch. YES!

Black and White Photos

There is just something about Black and White photography that gets me all excited and dreamy. I love this last picture sooooo much. I want to blow it up, frame it and hang it somewhere...the only problem is that I've run out of wall space in my room (I still need to hang up 2 more pictures!) Someday when I've got my own place the walls will be covered in photos and paintings.

Marc Johns

Marc Johns makes me laugh. All of his illustrations are so matter of fact yet so silly. I love this guys imagination.

Here is an explanation to that first picture. I'm going to try to stop choosing envy.
Thanks Marc
"We live in culture envy.Pick up a magazine, and what happens after flipping through a few pages? 'Ooh, I wish I had those shoes. I wish I lived in that house.' I do it too. It's kind of fun sometimes. (And it's not just in magazines - it happens on those Covet-This-Stuff blogs we all read. You know which ones I'm talking about.) But I think it's important to acknowledge that we do it, and more importantly that we choose to do it, and that it can lead us astray. We end up making decisions based on envy, instead of making them based on who we'd like to become, and staying true to ourselves. So this is simply my attempt at distilling a big aspect of our culture down to three words."

Marc Johns

Yes, Please!!

I'm such a nerd! I love love love books! A perfect day for me would be some tea a blanket in the park and a book. I think it stems back to my childhood when I saw Beauty & the Beast for the first time and Belle goes into that library. Incredible. I want a library like that but any of the above pictures would do as well, especially that rabbit hole of books in the first shot :)

Paper Cranes

I'm really loving paper cranes now a days. They are so cute and whimsical. I want to learn how to make them so I can get an aweomse chain of them like in one of the above photos. Super Cute. Anyone out there want to teach me some origami?

Vernon Finney

So, this is Vernon Finney. His work is some of the first stuff I saw that made me think I should start a blog. The first and last pictures are really incredible to me. The first one is titled, "The Creator" and the last one is "Adam! Arise"
The second to last piece is called "Drifting Apart" I've looked at that picture before and never really thought anything of it, but today was different. I looked at it and then read the title and my stomach flip-flopped. I really connected with it suddenly.

It's A Girls Life

This post has no rhyme or reason. These pictures just made me feel warm and fuzzy inside :) Enjoy.
